You'll be guided step by step through the painting process while learning foundational techniques you can apply to future floral paintings.
Throughout this 3-hour workshop, we'll explore color mixing, simple petal shapes, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques, and how to build a flower one layer at a time. Whether you've never picked up a paintbrush or are looking for a relaxing creative afternoon, you'll leave with new watercolor skills and a finished floral painting to take home.

Join Instructor Danielle Hood to discover how simple lines, shapes, and repeated marks can grow into intricate, unexpected designs. Inspired by meditative and structured-doodling drawing practices as well as patterns found in nature, this workshop explores repetition, variation, scale, density, and direction as tools for creating compelling compositions.
We'll begin with a series of small exercises to build a vocabulary of patterns and marks, then explore ways to combine and vary them before creating a larger finished ink drawing. The emphasis is on experimentation and process rather than drawing skill. There is no single “right” result, and everyone's finished piece will be different. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring any of your favorite materials too.
No drawing experience is necessary. All levels are welcome.
