Watercolor Family Trees- Fresh off her 2026 Bauman Artist-in-Residence project at the Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk, where she explored family histories through illustrated watercolor, Kristin brings her historic and artistic eye to this hands-on class. Students learn to create a watercolor-and-ink family tree, combining loose and detailed imagery with hand lettering and calligraphy. This class is for anyone who wants to capture their family’s growth and spirit on paper in an artful, illustrated manner. Kristin guides students through every step, offering inspirational examples and ideas drawn directly from her museum research.
Students will create their family trees primarily by hand, using watercolor, ink, hand lettering, and calligraphy. Kristin will also demonstrate a digital option for adding family names, giving students the flexibility to incorporate digitally created names into their hand-painted artwork.
Students are encouraged to bring family photos or notes on names/dates for reference.
