1 Day Workshop: Watercolor Pop-Up Accordion Cards- Pop-up accordion cards combine the zigzag folds of a concertina book with 3D elements that rise when opened. Painted with watercolor, they feature soft washes, bleeding edges, and translucent layers that give botanical or landscape scenes a dreamy, handcrafted look. Students explore soft color gradients and wet-in-wet blooms, learn to construct continuous zig-zag folded panels that expand into a multi-tiered display, and add staggered 3D cutouts or built-in steps so painted elements, including florals, little houses, or tiny scenes, leap forward off the page. Pen-and-ink outlines softened by bleeding watercolor washes complete the effect. Students choose from styles like multi-layered botanical garden scenes, rolling mini landscape panoramas, or tiny illustrated tales, and leave with a finished, one-of-a-kind pop-up card.
